Twenty years ago, when Internet connections were made via modem and file sharing programs were the law, there was one that particularly great as a breeding ground for all those young heavies lost in their villages.
They called it Soulseek.
Imagine that you have between 14-16 years, you are giving your first steps with your own first (really amateur) groups, and while you do homework with one hand, with the another you´re surfing through the gazillion megabytes of files of thousands of young people like you across Europe, armed only with your poor English (half school, half from songs + dictionary) and an irrepressible curiosity for underground listenersbands far away.
Well, I was one of those young men, and blessed by the gods, I was lucky to get myself a pair of friendly Poles, Russians and Lithuanians, and with them I discovered countless of those gems of rock bands, especially pagan, black and folk, three of my most enjoyable styles, and the three that are still able to get my hairs like hooks.
The disk that I bring today belongs to that golden age when you downloaded complete albums at a rate of one a day / week (depending on the good connection and if the partner was in line… XD ), and when you got it, you listened again and again , hoping to know you enjoyed a hidden gem.
I hope you’ll enjoy them at least as much as I did.
